MPLS

The drive to Minneapolis was relatively smooth but after 1300 miles I was ready to be settled in. I stopped for the night in Cincinnati, Madison and St. Paul en route to my apartment in Minneapolis. I was fortunate to have sunny skies and no traffic jams the whole way. I enjoyed driving through the mountains but found myself bored after 10 hours of corn fields in Indiana and Illinois I was already missing the mountains of Charlottesville. Perhaps the most fun along the way was a visit to my friend working at Trek in Waterloo Wisconsin. It was something akin to seeing a bike shop on steroids.

I've only been in Minneapolis a few days but it is already been a great place to enjoy the summer.
There seem to be festivals every day including alive after five less than a block from my apartment. Speaking of apartment, I don't think the commute to work could really be any shorter at one block. This longest part of my commute is waiting for the elevator. The view of the city and the sunset are really great from the ninth floor too. The weather and outdoor activities are really impressive, it seems that Minnesotans have to compress nine months of activities into three months of summer.
