Getting The Call

Phones ring in class and throughout the hallways this time of year. Why? It's summer internship interview season. Bankers scramble to get through several rounds of interviews, followed by consultants, general managers, then marketing and media folks. The venture capital and off-grounds job seekers will have to wait a while and suffer through hallway job talk and have faith that they will find what they are looking for.

I am one of the lucky ones to have an offer from a company I'm excited about. I've yet to accept the offer but I am very excited about it. One benefit of having a good offer is that I can re-focus on schoolwork and on helping others through encouragement and suggestions. Nearly everyone is really talented at Darden but some of them aren't as experienced at the art of interviewing. Many, like myself were recruited right out of undergraduate school with little or no interviewing practice.
