'Tis the season of March Madness. Basketball here in ACC country is big. Despite my 'Hoo allegiances I don't expect UVa to make it past the first round this year. They are great to watch but after watching teams with great big men inside, it's hard to imagine them getting too far in the tournament.
It's spring for us B-School students here in Charlottesville. Last week was the undergraduates, this week for the tuition poor MBAs to be. I've enjoyed a week away from the classroom and what was an exhausting set of midterms. Five days of five-hour exams it mentally brutal. I'm in awe of the many students who left immediately after exams to take a GBE (Global Business Experience). I could barely remember my way home on Friday, much less take an international journey. But the early reports are that the trips are a lot of fun. Friends went to Spain, Mexico and Sweden and I'm looking forward to hearing about their adventures.
For me, this was a week to catch up on some things I've been putting off. This includes not-so-fun things like taxes but also dusting off my bike to check out some of the country roads in the area. Charlottesville has a lot of beautiful scenery nearby and the 70-degree weather this week was a big plus. Oddly, it god cold this weekend and even snowed last night. Go figure. We've got a fire going in the fireplace this afternoon and I'm off to put on another log and check out some more b-ball.
