Free Time

The most common question I get these days is: "What are you doing with all your time?" I do have to admit that I'm able to dedicate a lot more time toward things I enjoy doing, but there are a lot of not so glamorous things too. The house is pretty clean and dinners are somewhat more interesting now. I'm as fit as I've been in several years, especially since this January was great for riding outside. I've also been working with a swim coach to refine my technique. I don't have any goals for swim competition but I'm hoping this will be something Michele and I can do together when I'm in school.

One area that I've taken up a lot of time with is reading. I've recently knocked out quite a few books. Some recent books include:

I also have a stack of others that are waiting to get read including:

Normally this queue of books would be intimidating but at the moment I'm not too worried. Some days when it's cold and raining I can tear through some pages.

I've also been working on building some good karma by volunteering my services to make slideshows for a few recent parties. These slideshows seem to keep folks entertained and make great party gifts. This weekend I put together a slideshow for our friend Mary's "forty-something" party and I've another this weekend for a surprise.

Michele and I have both become more active volunteering ourselves to help our friend Mark who continues his difficult rehabilitation. Michele does a wonderful job putting together dinners while I do my best to visit often and get other friends of his to head over with me. We've also recently signed up for leadership roles at our church and will be becoming more engaged with that in the coming weeks.
