Career Development

As I was revising my resume recently for my career development meeting it became apparent that I need to shift the way I think about my career. Career paths tend to follow a logical progression of positions. The "old school" way was that you started at the bottom of the ladder and worked your way up. B-school is this can either help you skip a couple rungs, or maybe even change ladders. In my case I'm looking for new ladder.

Darden offer a great career development center packed with specialists in every field. Their job is to help us set a course and succeed in our journey. This might be help in finding a job but for many of us new students it's simply a matter of refining our search horizon. Today I met with a counselor who helped me revise my resume, target some potential paths, and highlight some aspects of my career history that will be useful as I target future employment. As it turns out, PowerPoint specialist is not useful.
