Whew...

I made it. This afternoon I dropped off my last exam. Many of my classmates have already finished but I was not nearly as ambition about taking exams early. After Tuesday we are given all of our exams for our electives, we can choose to take them at any time. For me, exams are mentally exhausting, and taking them early isn't in the plan. I haven't had much time to reflect on the year but there are a few funny and/or odd memories that stick out from this year:

  • forgetting to take a shower a couple times first semester as I was so busy
  • getting my first 'A' (this took a while)
  • landing my internship offer
  • celebrating 100 cases completed (we're well over 300 now)
  • thinking that my online accounting course would prepare me for the class
  • racing for the UVa Cycling team
  • people
This has been an extremely rewarding year. The absolute most memorable part are the people. Student, professors and everyone in between are what really makes the memories. Before I started school I wondered if it would be better to attend a great school (reputation) with mediocre people or a mediocre school with great people and there's no doubt that for quality of life the latter provides a richer experience.

I'm off to celebrate the completion of an intense first-year experience. One down, one to go.
